Shoshana Mueller treated me for shoulder pain in the summer and fall of 2018.
I had involved, complicated stress injuries in my left shoulder from which I had been suffering for over two years. Shoshana took the time to systematically and thoroughly diagnose my problems. With each visit, she gave me a combination of deep tissue massage and exercises to relax and strengthen the involved muscles and tissues. When the time came for me to obtain cortisone shot(s), she provided detailed guidance and instruction to the attending physician as to the type of injection that was needed.
As of today, the shoulder pain is greatly reduced and I am very pleased with the results. When she started work on me I was unable to play music. By the time she finished, I was able to play in a two-hour bluegrass jam with almost no pain.
Shoshana is not a “cookie cutter” physical therapist. She really goes deep in her diagnosis to understand where the pain is coming from and how all the factors fit together. She is the best that I have ever worked with for this kind of thing. That includes two other PTs and about seven chiropractors.
I would be happy to answer any questions about the treatment she provided.

Shoshana has returned me to hope and healing after a series of unfortunate events left me in pain, and most doctors said live with it and give up activities. Shoshana integrates her talents in her hands, head, and heart to truly find the causes of pain. Her knowledge of bodies and training provide analytical assessment, she researches all possibilities. Shoshana’s hands-on techniques released my body to heal and her guidance on therapy has strengthened me and restored balance.
My experience is that Shoshana goes on the journey with the patient and cares enough to provide all aspects of guidance for healing.Gail B. (patient from 2018 to 2019)
I suffered from pain down my right buttock and numbness in my right foot for two years. The pain changed my life – I had to stop running after years of being a runner, lost many sleepless nights and suffered from mood and energy changes. After seeing an orthopedist, two different physiatrists, a physical therapist, chiropractor and having multiple epidural injections, my problem still persisted and the pain was becoming just part of my life. I was close to giving up on ever feeling better when I had the luck of meeting Shoshana Foxwell.
She was the first professional who really analyzed my whole body and was the only one who could put all the pieces of the puzzle together to figure out the source of my pain. She worked diligently, dedicating her time, thought and care to resolve my pain. Shoshana looked beyond MRI’s, observed my stance, walk, and posture during different forms of exercise. She listened to how, when and where the pain presented. She truly captured a whole body perspective of my pain like no other doctor or therapist had done before.
In less than 12 sessions she taught me to understand how my body was responding to years of bad posture and poor form during exercise. I learned specific exercises, how to treat myself during flare-ups and user-friendly tricks for self-correcting poor posture throughout the day. Shoshana worked to connect with my physiatrist, helping him to understand her analysis of the source of my pain and providing him the guidance he needed to specialize his treatment to my unique situation. Without her input, I don’t believe the physiatrist’s treatment would have been beneficial.
I have never worked with a more caring and committed professional, who brings both heart and science to her practice and whose dedication to her patients goes above and beyond.
